What is Interchange Financials’ Send Money to Europe service?

You can send money to any bank account in Europe directly from your Canadian bank account.  You will send Canadian dollars and the recipient will receive Euros.  There are no fees or service charges involved with the service and you will receive Canada’s best exchange rate.  In short, you can send money to Europe and pay less to do so.

How does Interchange Financials’ Send Money to Europe work?

It is simple.  You open an account online in just a few minutes.  There is no cost associated with opening account or transferring money to Europe.  When you are ready you tell us how much you want to send and to whom and we do the rest for you.  You can do so online or on the phone.  All you need is the bank account information of your recipient.  We do the rest for you.  Most importantly, you end up spending less in Canadian dollars to send the same amount of Euros.

What is the benefit of the service to me?

You want to send Euros to a person or business in Europe?  Now you can send money from your Canadian dollar bank account to a bank account in Europe without incurring any fees and receiving the best exchange rate possible.  You can do it online at any time of day or night.  The service is designed for Canadians specifically by a Canadian company so it is simple to use and cost-free and it offers the best rates between EUR and CAD.

How do I send money with Interchange Financial?

It is very simple and takes just a few minutes.  You verify your email and tell us how much you would like to send.  You then give us information about the recipient (bank account information is required for the recipient).  The money then goes directly from your Canadian dollar bank account to the recipient’s Euro account.

Why use Interchange Financial and not the bank?

At the bank, if you send money to Europe, you have to use a wire.  The wire has fees associated with it, both for you and the recipient.  Also, at the bank, when you send the Canadian dollars, you will get an exchange rate that is quite a bit less attractive than what you can get with us.  Finally, our service is easier to use.  You simply log on and place the transfer.  You do not have to contact the bank or visit the branch to complete your order.

Do I need to visit the bank for currency exchange?

No.  That is the old way of doing things!  You can visit your bank if you would like or you can visit one of our locations but our service is entirely accessible online.  If you have any  questions you can always call our helpline at 1-888-972-7799.

How do I open an account?

Opening an account is very very simple.  First you verify your email.  Then you give us your biographical information.  Then when you are ready to send money you tell us how much and to whom you are sending money.

Do I need to fund my Interchange Financial account?

No.  You do not need to send us any money to fund your account.  You simply link your bank account.  When you are ready to make a transfer, you tell us the details of the amount and the recipient and the money goes from your Canadian dollar bank account to the recipient’s Euro account.  You choose when and how much you want to send.

How do I pay?

You pay by linking your bank account to your Interchange Financial account.  That eliminates delays and unnecessary costs associated with credit cards and other payment methods.  You can link your credit card by entering your debit card number and your online banking password.  No money gets transferred until you are ready to do a transfer and place an order online.

Can I use a credit card to pay?

No.  Credit cards will charge you fees and take longer.

Does it cost anything to open an account?

No.  Opening an account does not have any costs associated with it.

What information about the recipient do I need?

You need the recipient’s bank account information.  In Europe, each bank account has an IBAN number associated with it.  IBAN is very common in Europe and your recipient will have it readily available.  All you need is the recipient’s name (or business on institution name) and the recipient bank account’s IBAN number.  The IBAN has all the information we need to make the payment swiftly.  An IBAN number is a number with 15 to 34 characters which can be numbers or letters.  For example, DE75512108001245126199 is an example of an IBAN number in Germany.
